Lots of Linkage

Obama's budget would boost science - This is very refreshing news. The previous administration seemed to regard education as a bad thing and science as a tool of the devil himself. It's nice to see a more enlightened administration promoting scientific advancements.

Philip Jose Farmer passes at 91 - I'm a little embarrassed to call myself a sci fi fan without ever having read Farmer's "Riverworld" books. However I did enjoy his "biography" of Doc Savage as well as "Escape From Loki" in which Doc and the five men he would later share numerous adventures with escaped from a German POW camp in WWI.

Jackson's Fury in flurry of Marvel films - And now the circle is complete. When Marvel created their "Ultimate" line of comics they re-imagined the former WWII Howling Commando Nick Fury as being based on Sam Jackson. Is this some kind of a record? How many other actors can claim they've got that many movies lined up?
---
'Heroes' hits lowest audience numbers yet - It's a shame because in many ways the show has improved with the "Villains" arc. "More than 15 percent of 'Heroes'' audience has departed the series since the current volume began, but most indications seem to point that NBC will give the show a fourth season as long as Bryan Fuller is involved." If you're a fan then keep your fingers crossed.

A new 'Total Recall' is on the way - Why? It's been a few years since I've seen this one but I thought it was one of Arnold's better films. What the heck is the point of remaking this? This is just further proof that there is no such thing as a new idea in Hollywood.
