This Friday will be two weeks since Shelly was discharged from the excellent acute therapy rehabilitation hospital that helped her reach the next stages of her recovery and we're all happy to have her back home with us. There's still a long road ahead for her but it will be easier for her and the rest of us to continue her progress now without her having to endure the unfamiliar surroundings and us having to arrange our schedules around the drive to and from the facility. Services are in place, with physical, occupational and speech therapy specialists making regular visits as well as home heath care pitching in with the extra work here.
My lovely wife has endured so much throughout all of this and thank God she's made the progress that she has. I'd like to extend a big "thanks" to everyone who has written to me or commented here with their support for Shelly and all of us during this time, your well-wishes are very much appreciated.
Swift Rivers will start getting settled back into its former routine of being mostly a "blog about nothing." I'll still be making notes of milestones in her recovery as they come along. Just as our household can make its way back towards what used to pass for "normal" around here, so too will my writing about comic books, television shows, homeowner chores and other various and sundry. In fact, I've got a post in mind about a TV show that revolves around a group of people stranded on a mysterious island...
