Last weekend I woke up with severe back pain. So I drove myself a few blocks up the highway to the ER (complete agony every time I step on the clutch) and after the most cursory of exams the doctor proclaims it as sciatica, prescribes two heavy-duty pain killers and refers me to a spinal clinic, Seriously, it took them longer to write out the prescriptions and discharge me than it did for them to examine me!
It's now a week later, the pain killers not only do very little to help but it turns out they also cause edema - my feet are so badly swollen that I can hardly get my shoes on. Honestly, I just don't see the point of going to yet another doctor to let them take a wild guess at what's wrong with me and prescribe something that's probably a lot worse than what I'm on now while bilking my health insurance for the whole thing. I'm done taking their worse-than-useless pain pills and if I feel any better by Tuesday I'm just blowing off the appointment.
